The former landlords of a letting agent who has been jailed after pleading guilty to 10 counts of fraud have spoken out, calling him a tenant from hell who had to be evicted.

Last week we reported that Tim Glasson, from Cornwall, was jailed for 21 months after collecting rent from tenants and failing to deliver it to landlords, and for keeping deposits which should instead have been put into a Deposit Protection Scheme.

Now his former landlords, David and Maria Sames, have taken to print in the West Briton local newspaper to explain that Glasson and his partner allegedly caused £800 of damage in their property.

In mid-December last year the Sames said they gave Glasson notice to quit because of his continued late payments. When he was eventually evicted by the courts, the couple were awarded £7,000 in debt arrears and legal costs.

The article contains an allegation by David Sames that Glasson had told several people that he actually owned the property and even attempted to sub-let it. Back in March Mr Glasson's partner vacated the property stating that she did not consider herself responsible for any rent arrears because he had told her that he had bought the property according to Sames.

He is also quoted in the paper saying: Several neighbours also informed me that he told them he was the owner of the property and during April [2013] a local estate agent contacted me for clarification that we actually owned it, as a woman had gone into their office and stated that Tim Glasson was trying to sub-let our property to her daughter.

The Sames say they were left with a bill of almost £800 to redecorate and recarpet their property.
