Romans is stepping up its strategy of expanding around London commuter areas, and particularly making inroads into destinations likely to see increased demand thanks to Crossrail.

Just two months after acquiring Jacksons Residential in Henley-on-Thames and Caroline Clark & Associates in Sunninghill, Romans is today announcing the acquisition of Sherriff Mountford's two estate and lettings branches in Burnham and Farnham Common in Buckinghamshire.

This takes to seven the number of acquisitions made over the past year, when a £12m finance facility from Romans Group's bankers became available for more purchases.

We're predicting a lot more activity specifically in Burnham over the coming years due to Crossrail says Peter Fuller, managing director of Romans Lettings.

Sherriff Mountford marks Romans first foothold into Buckinghamshire and the group hints there may be more to come in this area. It is already active in Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey.

Meanwhile Century 21 has opened its latest office in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, where lettings and sales are on offer from Pelham Property Services.

The Pelham office has been functioning in Ilkeston for 15 years and is run by Sue Cook, who also operates a property management company in Orlando, Florida, where she is a licensed realtor with Century 21.

The new company's brand name - Century 21 Pelham Property Services - will, as with all C21 outlets, offer property services provided by the parent company in the UK, Shepherd Direct.
