The ESTAS have just launched a brand new category for letting agents - but you have to be nice to your tenants to stand a chance of winning.

Up until now only landlords of agents have been eligible to complete the survey rating agents on the level of customer service they provide. However, based on feedback from agents taking part in the competition a new category - Best Letting Agent (rated by Tenants) - is now open for entry.

Referrals from tenants is a key marketing tool for letting agents. With the growth of social media it's important agents provide good customer service to tenants just as they do for landlords. This new category gives agents the opportunity to show how they look after tenants and provides them with another way to promote their service to new tenants and their landlords says Simon Brown who runs The ESTAS.

The annual ESTAS ceremony takes place every April and is hosted by Location, Location, Location star Phil Spencer.

It says a great deal about a company which is prepared to stand up and announce to customers and competitors it believes in providing the best possible service and is happy to prove it says Spencer.

The ESTAS competition is open to all estate and lettings in the UK and provides benchmarking data enabling agents to track customer service rating and compare their performance regionally and nationally. Firms can also view customer feedback comments from sellers, buyers, landlords and now tenants creating powerful social media campaigns.
