I became an estate agent becausethe man who became my first manager went into my father's business. They got chatting because my father is Italian as is my first manager's wife. I had just finished my exams and my father didn't want me at homeso he set up an interview for me as an office junior.
The biggest threat to our industry isbad agents, not providing required service levels, and generally giving bad advice, with overvaluing one of the biggest problems.

My biggest mistake in estate agency ismerging my two office practice with another company. I realised very quickly it wasn't the right move, but if this hadn't have happened I would not have made the call to Mullucks Wells and would not be here now!
The most stressful part of my job isI am not a stressy person, all problems are just a challenge, always deal with the problems first, they get worse if you leave them.
If I could change one thing about estate agency it would bethe industry reputation, there are a lot of very good agents out there!
My one piece of advice for young agents islisten to people, your clients, your buyers and your managers and honesty is the best policy!
The best thing about being an estate agent isno two days are the same with a wide ranging client base. My role is very varied, dealing with developers with interests covering commercial, to investments, land , planning and new homes sales. I am lucky enough to deal with all aspects of the property market.
