A landlord has taken a multi-coloured approach to telling a council where to go after he was told by the authority to spruce up his home.

He was not singled out. The letters were sent to all owners of the 199 homes in Viaduct Road by Brighton and Hove council planners telling them to make sure their homes were neatly painted.

But the landlord saw red - or perhaps a multitude of colours - and instead commissioned local artist AroeMSK to do something a little more ambitious than paint the front door.

So enter a tattooed Queen Victoria, a British Bulldog, London Underground trains and Beachy Head lighthouse, all on the wall of one house.

AroeMSK, who is on the video below explaining what he has done on the house, actually held back from the most ostentatios designs he has put on walls elsewhere in Brighton - he's done a Run DMC mural in Kensington Street, the Star Wars mural opposite the Level and has completely painted over the hoardings around the Brighton i360 building site.
