A Peterborough letting agent accused of grooming young girls for sex has told the Old Bailey that he is a normal person' with no intention of breaking the law.

Mohammed Khubaib - who was arrested on in January 2013 after being found in a bedroom with two 14-year-old girls, a co-defendent and another adult - is accused of enticing girls to spend time with him with gifts of McDonald's meals, cash, tobacco and flowers.

The Peterborough Today news website claims Khubaib was found by police three times in the space of one week in the company of girls and other older men when alcohol was present.

Khubaib denies nine counts of trafficking a child for sexual exploitation and one of raping a 14-year-old girl.

A co-defendent denies five counts of trafficking a child for sexual exploitation and one of raping a 16-year-old girl.

The pair have each been acquitted of two trafficking charges but the trial continues.
