A landlord has been fined £9,000 after being found guilty of six offences connected with having properties unfit for human habitation.

Lancashire landlord Casey Harwood had tenants in one property without heating; in another property - turned into flats without planning consent - one unit had only one electrical socket.

Blackpool magistrates' court has heard that Harwood continued to operate his investment properties despite legal notices telling him to decant the homes.

He has now fined £9,000 following action initiated by Blackpool council. A spokeswoman for the authority told the court that one specific property had no fire or smoke alarms, was excessively cold and had windows which could not be opened because they would fall out. There was damp and mould and no food store.

The need is to understand first why things were happening towards wrong side then the right one This is not just only the problem of developing countries, but it has also been the problem of most of the developed countries.
