We all live in a Robbie Fowler house. That refrain, familiar to football fans who used to chant it back in the 1990s, may return this week when the former Premier League player relaunches his property academy for buy-to-let investors.

The former Liverpool star was listed as one of the 1,000 wealthiest Britons as long ago as 2005 thanks to his personal buy-to-let porfolio; he retired from the sport in 2012 and now is concentrating full-time on residential investment.

Now the Robbie Fowler Property Academy Workshop will have six sessions for the public this week with others outside the capital in coming weeks.

"Off the pitch one of my biggest successes has come from investing in property. When I first started I didn't know much about the property world but I had some good advice from people who did. It doesn't matter what state the market's in, there is always money to be made as long as you get the right education" he says.

Fowler doesn't usually attend the free two-hour sessions which follow the familiar investment seminar' format adopted by many firms in the past.

A keynote speaker bullishly explains that the free sessions are merely a taster and that a mixture of longer paid-for weekend courses, DVD and telephone seminars are required to optimise the information and education required by an amateur buy-to-let investor.
