Who are you and what does it say on your business card?

Louis Musgrove – Group Managing Director

What is Southernbrook Lettings and what does it do?

Southernbrook Lettings – Residential Lettings & Property Management

What services do you offer and in what ways do you work with estate and letting agents?

We offer anything from a basic tenant find only, to rent collection and compliance to full management whereby we handle everything for the client. We offer an advice line.

What makes your product different and how does it benefit agents?

We go above and beyond we are a independent firm with long term staff members trained from scratch, all our clients get the personal touch regardless of the size of the company and as MD of the group all landlords have my mobile number readily available which they know they can contact any time.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

Having run Southernbrook lettings from the beginning to now market leaders in our local areas we are proud on what we have achieved having now been running this for over 12 years we are looking to grow even further without rocking the service we deliver. We are the highest rated agent in the Chichester, Bognor and Gosport areas via Google which speaks for itself.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Helping clients, whether it’s a new landlord looking to buy there first investment and wanting advice or a tenant looking for their ideal home once they come together!

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing estate and letting agents at the moment?

As everyone knows the interest rates aren’t helping any part of the property market currently which is also causing rent rises, we are working with many clients to get a even balance so the tenant still remains in a home that’s affordable and the landlord doesn’t fall into financial difficulty. Hopefully rates have now peaked and we can all look forward to drop coming!

What is your property prediction for the next 12 months?

I think the residential sales market will be in for a tough time over the next 12 months until rates settle, the good thing with residential lettings is there will always be a demand therefore if you cant sell why not let it then come back to selling once the market settles! We hope this will see an increase in available rental properties.

Country house or city apartment?

Being used to a busy town I think a city apartment

Trendy roof terrace or traditional English garden?

Trendy roof terrace far less maintenance!

Would you rather be a free-moving tenant or settled owner occupier?

Settled owner occupier, my aim is to focus on my immediate area and growing and working our business.

Homes under the Hammer or Location, Location, Location?

Homes under the hammer! We also own many investment properties so always like to see what projects people are buying and how they turn them around!
