What is Cavendish Estate Agents?

Cavendish Estate Agents is an established and trusted estate and letting agency operating in Chester and North Wales. Known for its local expertise, professionalism, and personal service, Cavendish helps homeowners, landlords, tenants, and property investors navigate the property market with confidence.

There are two main branches of the business:

  1. Cavendish Estate Agents – specialising in residential property sales, offering tailored advice and marketing to help homeowners achieve the best price for their property.
  2. Cavendish Rentals – focused on lettings and tenancy management, providing landlords with expert support and tenants with a high-quality renting experience.

Cavendish stands out for its blend of traditional values and modern marketing, with a strong reputation built on trust, integrity, and results.

How do you help landlords and property investors?

Cavendish Rentals supports landlords across Chester and North Wales with a fully managed, hands-off lettings service that covers everything from securing high-quality tenants and ensuring legal compliance to routine maintenance and rent collection. We focus on maximising our landlords’ returns and increasing profit, using expert local market knowledge, strategic advice, and a proactive approach to property management. Our experienced team stays ahead of legislation so you don’t have to, offering peace of mind and professional support at every step. In addition, we host free quarterly landlord training sessions via chesterlandlordwebinars.co.uk, helping landlords stay informed, compliant, and confident in an ever-changing market.

Does Cavendish Estate Agents benefit tenants, too?

Cavendish Rentals benefits tenants by providing a professional, respectful, and responsive renting experience that prioritises their wellbeing and financial future. Here’s how:

  • Safe, well-maintained homes – We ensure all properties meet legal safety standards and are kept in good condition, with prompt attention to repairs and maintenance.
  • Clear communication – Tenants can reach us easily, report issues quickly, and receive regular updates. We believe in being approachable, transparent, and fair.
  • Professional service – From application to move-out, our team supports tenants at every stage with clear guidance, fair processes, and a smooth tenancy journey.
  • Credit-building opportunity – We offer the option for rent payments to be counted toward tenants’ credit scores, helping them build a stronger financial profile while they rent.
  • Fair treatment and respect – We treat tenants as valued customers, not just occupants—creating a positive experience that encourages long-term, stable tenancies.

In short, Cavendish Rentals helps tenants feel secure, supported, and respected—because better homes and happier tenants benefit everyone.

Why is it important for tenants to have rental payments contribute towards their credit score?

It’s important for tenants to have rental payments contribute towards their credit score because rent is often their largest monthly expense—yet traditionally, it hasn’t helped build credit history. By reporting rental payments, tenants can:

  • Build a positive credit profile – Consistently paying rent on time shows financial responsibility and can improve credit scores over time.
  • Access better financial products – A stronger credit score can lead to lower interest rates, easier approval for loans, credit cards, and even mobile contracts.
  • Prepare for homeownership – Tenants looking to buy in the future can benefit from a proven record of managing monthly housing costs.
  • Level the playing field – Many tenants, especially younger people or those without loans or credit cards, are “credit invisible.” Rent reporting gives them a fair chance to build credit just by doing what they already do—paying rent.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

Taking over as Managing Director of Cavendish was a proud and transformative moment—not just personally, but for the direction of the business. It marked a shift towards a more modern and solutions-driven approach. One of my greatest achievements has been diversifying our services to help more people—expanding beyond traditional lettings to offer strategic support for landlords, tailored advice for property investors, and educational resources through our landlord webinars. These changes have allowed us to make a real, lasting impact in our community while strengthening the business for the future.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

Coaching and mentoring my team to help them be the best version of themselves

What do you see as the biggest challenge facing landlords at the moment?

Change in legislation (who like’s change that they’re not in control of?).

What is your property prediction for the next 12 months?

Stability in the short term.  I think we’ll see more landlords wanting to offload as the renters rights bill is introduced.
