Countrywide snaps up another independent letting agency

Countrywide has snapped up another independent letting agency - this time it is Thomas C Adams in Chester which has become part of the country’s largest agency group.

Established since 1886, the firm now operates a substantial portfolio of landlords’ properties in Chester, the Wirral and parts of north Wales.

“The acquisition is a key part of our strategy of expansion through acquisition and organic growth across the UK. The business will be fully-integrated within the overall Countrywide lettings division giving landlord clients access to our exclusive range of products and services, and the benefit of our strong and secure infrastructure to support both landlords and tenants” explains Jane O’Donnell of Countrywide Residential Lettings.

The business will continue to operate as normal under its local brand name of Beresford Adams and all staff will remain at the branch.

“Countrywide has a unique ability to grow businesses by ensuring they operate autonomously, retain their local heritage and benefit from Countrywide’s ongoing investment and support” says John Hards, managing director of Countrywide Residential Lettings.

He says the firm is on the look out for more independents which may be interested in being taken over “almost anywhere in the UK.”
