'Landlord Tax Levy Campaign Group' launches

A campaign group protesting against the government’s Budget proposal to limit the tax breaks for buy to let investors has been launched.

Called the Landlord Tax Levy Campaign Group and publicised chiefly on the Property118 buy to let website, it is seeking members who would be willing to spend 15 minutes a day campaigning against the proposals.

Those subscribing to the campaign - here - will be sent such things as letter templates so that MPs and others can be lobbied to show the scale of opposition to the scheme, along with press releases that can be customised and sent to local news outlets, social media ideas for use on Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin, and possible instant messages for use on SMS texts and What’sApp to create viral protests. 

A model letter to send to local authority chief executives is as follows (and still campaigns the figure 5,500 in reference to the online petition against the tax changes - although, as we reported yesterday, well over 10,000 have now signed):
