"What's your problem? It's just a pig"

A property being let out in Lincolnshire produced an unexpected surprise for the agent and landlord handling a routine inspection - the presence of a 50-stone pig.

The Mirror reports that a GP called Gary Armstrong was letting out the property to a tenant described as an RAF serviceman on behalf of his father.

During a routine inspection the pig was discovered, inside the house, having caused a reported £7,500 of damage and requiring new flooring, new turf in the garden, repairs to the patio and a deep clean.

Armstrong is reported in the Mirror to have said: "I was absolutely stunned when I saw it, it was a complete shock. "I was just renting out my dad's house after he moved and this was my first tenant, an RAF serviceman based at Brize Norton.”

Armstrong, from Yorkshire, said he believed the man's partner bought the pig into the house.

"His partner was there when I examined the house, she said something about it being unwell and they brought it into the house. I said to the woman, there's a pig in the house and she replied: 'What's your problem? It's just a pig'."
