OpenRent, set up in 2012 and more recently the recipient of investment from media group Northern & Shell Ventures, is now claiming to be Britain’s biggest lettings agency.
Pricing for landlords starts from free to a £49 one off cost per property which includes advertising and tenancy creation, and no admin fees are charged to tenants.
The agency claims that last year it let over 28,000 properties across the country, significantly more than its nearest online or traditional competitor.
It says its claim comes from data available on Zoopla and on letting agencies’ annual reports.
It claims to have let over 7,000 more properties last year than Foxtons (20,895) and 21,000 more properties than Hamptons (7,000). OpenRent also let more than 16,000 more properties than Upad – which, says Open Rent, makes a claim on its website to be the UK’s largest online letting service.
It also says it let 6,000 more properties than YourMove.
A spokesman for the firm insists it is anticipating “rapid growth” this year.
