SDL Bigwood – owned by Century 21 UK franchise parent company Shepherd Direct Limited – has been selected as the lettings and property manager by a major player in the Build To Rent sector.

Back in January we reported that Shepherd Direct Limited – best known for owning the Century 21 UK franchise – had acquired CPBigwood, the Birmingham-based property and auctions business for an undisclosed sum. SDL has interests in surveying, valuations, lettings, mortgages and agency.

Now Sigma Capital – one of the UK’s most prominent players in the burgeoning Build To Rent sector – has chosen SDL Bigwood as ‘Letting and Property Management partner’ for its fund, which aims to build 1,000 units across England over the next 18 months.

Construction on the first Sigma sites is already underway and SDL Bigwood will be receiving units to let and manage from August.

The developments will feature two, three and four-bedroom homes.

“Our track record of letting properties off-plan, and delivering a professional, ARMA-qualified and customer-focused service to tenants was pivotal in securing this contract, and makes us a market leader in the delivery of [Build To Rent] developments” says a spokesman for SDL Bigwood.
