A letting agency that claimed it had a 24-hour emergency phone line has changed its advertising – because the service did not exist.

A complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority about Wirral-based Barnes Property Management came from a member of the public, and prompted an investigation by the organisation.

“Following our contact, the advertiser removed the claim from the website so we closed the case informally and no further action was necessary” an ASA spokeswoman has told Letting Agent Today.

Barnes Property has been operating on the Wirral for over 20 years; based in Birkenhead it handles residential and commercial property sales and lettings in Wirral and Liverpool.
