The Advertising Standards Authority has stepped in after receiving a complaint about the display of fees on a letting agency’s website.

The ASA says the website of north Wales agency HelpMeRent “made claims to never charge the tenant an admin fee.”

However after viewing a property, an individual was presented with a list of charges, which included an admin fee.

The individual then went on to complain to the ASA; the authority contacted the agency which then amended the incorrect pages of its website.

“No further action was required and we considered the case closed on an informal basis” says an authority spokeswoman.
