'Marks Out Of Tenancy' review website relaunches next month

A review website called Marks Out Of Tenancy relaunches next month to provide what its creator calls a “trusted platform on which landlords and letting agents become publicly and transparently accountable for the service they provide.”

Little is known about the history of the site - which you can find here - although a YouTube video posted in March suggests it aims to be an international service for tenants to review agents, property managers and landlords.

The YouTube video and current website contents contain a substantial amount of UK-centric material, including an unsourced assertion that one out of four UK rental tenants have been evicted “at least once, through no fault of their own.”

The current content of the site is out of date, including a reference to David Cameron as Prime Minister.

The website’s social media profile on Twitter and Facebook suggests it may be based in Bristol, where a range of activist tenants have been protesting against letting agents and landlords in the past two years.

A spokesman for Marks Out Of Tenancy has told Letting Agent Today that the service will be relaunching on an unspecified day next month, with the aim of ecnouraging tenants to also review local neighbourhoods to give prospective tenants an insight into areas.

“Marks Out Of Tenancy isn't a landlord / letting agent 'bashing site', we're working with all parties to offer an open platform where tenants, landlords and agencies can communicate, collaborate and improve the state of the private rental sector” the spokesman has told LAT.
