Mydeposits teams up with charity to ‘professionalise’ deposits

Todays other news

Agents, tenants and landlords on Jersey in the Channel Islands are to receive updated advice on the returning of deposits.

ITV News reports that the Jersey branch of charity Citizens Advice has teamed up with mydeposits’ Jersey operation to offer face-to-face support on rental rights.

So far some 4,000 tenants have been protected by mydeposits Jersey, which was set up in November 2015.

“Our aim is to help support and improve the rental market for all, and work with companies like mydeposits and the States of Jersey [island government] to professionalise the rental sector. A key part of the new relationship will be to help raise awareness of deposit protection amongst landlords and tenants on the island” says a charity spokesman.
