The campaign against the phased reduction in landlords’ mortgage interest tax relief is continuing with the opening of a new website, just three weeks before the new rules come into effect.
The website is the vehicle for the campaign led by Steve Bolton and Chris Cooper, two landlords who over the past 18 months have led opposition to the mortgage interest tax relief reform, announced in the summer of 2015 by then-Chancellor George Osborne.
Despite no last-ditch change of mind by the current government in yesterday’s Budget, the campaign continues against the measure – formally known as Section 24 of the Finance (no.2) Act 2015.
The new website includes a campaign video, a list of the campaign’s supporters – including the ARLA, NLA, RLA, UKALA and the Scottish Association of Landlords – plus downloadable resources including arguments against the tax and campaigning materials.
You can see the website here.
