University Cribs, the student property search engine, is expanding to list accommodation in the London market.

The service says that with its existing group of letting agents, developers and private halls of residences, there are over 120,000 rooms now listed. The capital is believed to have some 2.2m students.

The firm says the move into London is a significant milestone towards its ambition of becoming the UK’s first dedicated property search engine for student housing.

Student accommodation providers CRM Students and Homes for Students are the latest adopters of the technology and will use the site to promote available rooms.

University Cribs says it has over 275,000 site visitors and one million page views and as of last month a run rate conversion of 9.6 per cent of users going on to make a formal enquiry to the agent via the platform.

Some 156 agents are signed up and the company is active across 25 university towns in England and Wales.

“University Cribs’ rapid growth has led to a very high level of adoption and we are well on our journey towards becoming the ‘go to’ for anyone looking for student accommodation, anywhere in the UK. By partnering with providers such as CRM Students and Homes for Students, quality accommodation is available at the touch of a button” claims Jack Jenkins, co-founder of University Cribs.
