A company claims to have a package of services which would help letting agents overcome the widely-anticipated ban on fees being charged on tenants – and it has recruited a former NAEA president to speak out in its favour.

Let Alliance’s new Fit For The Future package says it allows agents access to a monthly rent guarantee, free tenant referencing and a nil-deposit scheme.

This package follows workshops with 200 Let Alliance customers earlier this year.

“The services are designed to continue providing peace of mind to our letting agent customers and their landlords, while improving the managed service offering our customers can offer landlords and to help attract new tenants” says the firm’s founder, Andy Halstead.

Three agents have already signed up for the initial pilot – Martyn Gerrard Estate Agents, Ryder & Dutton and Boydens Estate Agents – and LetAlliance says registration is now open for otherts.

“With 30 offices between the pilot agencies the new package is now already available to circa 8,000 tenants and 3,000 landlords nationwide” says Halstead.

Simon Gerrard, managing director of Martyn Gerrard Estate Agents, says: “The Fit For The Future service presents a unique offering for a market being tested by government regulation and red tape.”
