Rents still slowly rising according to latest Your Move data

Todays other news

Latest data from Your Move’s rental indices suggest that rents are growing, with the average in England and Wales now £904, and £579 in Scotland.

Nine out of 10 regions in England and Wales saw rent rises over the past year, with most seeing demand outstrip supply as tenant numbers increase. Affordability appears to have improved marginally too, as tenant finances have improved.

However, compared to England & Wales, Scottish landlords are seeing stronger returns – on average 4.9 per cent.

Average rents north of the border have grown in four out of five regions over the past year, with typical Scottish rents now at £579 per month, up 0.7 per cent on July.
