Belvoir Lettings, the UK’s largest property franchise, has been named as Franchise of the Year at the Negotiator Awards.

Belvoir has been at the centre of acrimonious merger talks with The Property Franchise Group in recent months.

The merger now appears to be on hold after Belvoir’s approach was publicly rebuffed by TPFG, amid a war of words between the two companies.

In a statement marking the award, the group says it “continues to leverage its network expertise to support franchisee growth, with its central office team on hand to provide support and guidance to franchisees, who are also able to benefit from financial support from the group’s via its assisted acquisition programme.”

Belvoir chief executive, Dorian Gonsalves, says: “This is an absolutely stunning result and I could not be prouder of Belvoir, our board of directors, our dedicated franchise support team and of course all of the franchisees, who have worked so hard across our network to ensure that Belvoir has become a brand that is synonymous with great customer service, professionalism and outstanding success within the industry.”
