The director of a letting agency in Devon has been released on bail until June 2.

In November and December, Letting Agent Today reported stories from Plymouth about Drake Homes, owned by Heather Crabb.

Local reports in the Western Evening Herald suggested that landlords and tenants had difficulties contacting the company which manages around 100 properties.

In December Crabb issued a statement denying any wrongdoing after her agency was closed for some weeks. The statement read: “Due to continued ill health, we are informing you that the portfolio of Drake Homes is being transferred to a reputable agent who will look after your interests. We are in the process of completing your final accounts accordingly and the new agent, who is well established and very experienced will be in touch in due course. Kind regards. Heather.”

Now the Herald is reporting that Crabb - who was arrested on suspicion of theft, fraud and money landering, has been released on bail.

Crabb has told the newspaper that she refutes claims of wrong-doing, and says she is cooperating with the police investigation.

An unidentified man is also reported to have been arrested in connection with the same issues regarding the lettings agency.
