The charges relate to a property in Hatfield and included failure to licence a HMO, failure to maintain fire safety precautions, failure to provide safety documents and failure to keep the property in a good state of repair.

"Everyone should feel confident when renting a property in our borough and it's important we send a clear signal to a small minority of landlords not taking their responsibilities seriously” says a spokeswoman for the council.

"Housing management regulations are there for a very good reason. That is why our top priority will always be to maintain standards and keep people safe” she adds.
