Belvoir celebrates record number of franchise license renewals

Belvoir is reporting a record year for franchise license renewals in 2017 with 34 offices across the country celebrating a collective total of 325 years with the company.

The agency says research by the British Franchise Association suggests ownership changes in franchisee businesses are low, and failure rates are much lower than for other small and medium sized enterprises generally.

“This is certainly borne out by our experience, as during 2017 we saw 11 offices celebrating five years with Belvoir, 17 celebrating a decade, four achieving fifteen years and two offices completing 20 years” says Belvoir chief executive Dorian Gonsalves.

He says this is a testimony to the success of Belvoir's business model.

In particular, he has highlighted Natalie Boardman, one of the company’s newest franchisees who has recently bought Belvoir Tunbridge Wells. She has a background in financial services and decided to buy a Belvoir franchise after the birth of her daughter last year.

“I did look at buying an independent business, but ultimately was drawn to Belvoir because of all the support that is provided. My husband is a chartered surveyor and both of us have always had an interest in property, and have been buy to let landlords for 10 years” she says.
