Some letting agencies and selected landlords are being asked to take part in a new survey investigating views and experiences in the private rental sector.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has instructed survey organisation NatCen to select agents and landlords.
Those chosen will have received an invitation from one of the three government-backed Tenancy Deposit Schemes – that’s the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, the Deposit Protection Service, or MyDeposits.
The probe is being called the English Private Landlord Survey and the MHCLG states this will be “the most authoritative evidence source on the profile and views of private landlords and their agents in England” with results used to inform future government policy.
An example of the previous survey of this kind, back in 2010, is here.
This year’s survey runs for six weeks over this March and April, with landlords and agents being chosen randomly to take part.
