Another short let management firm to expand out of London

Todays other news

Another short let management firm, set up in the wake of an explosion of Airbnb-style renting by amateurs and professionals, is expanding from London into Bristol and Bath.

In June we reported that Airsorted – one of a number of management services sprung up to cater for hosts using Airbnb and similar platforms – was expanding into Bristol and Bath, as well as Brighton and Edinburgh. Now another company is following the path westwards.

Air Agents, which has the backing of two Dragons’ Den entrepreneurs, launched in the capital in 2015 but now is also operating in Bristol and Bath which together welcome nearly three million tourists a year.

A statement from the company claims that “the increase of staycations and tourism to the area provides homeowners with an opportunity to make a substantial amount of extra income with the average property earning circa £29,000 annually.”

Fran Milsom, co-founder of Air Agents, says: “The average nightly rate in Bristol and Bath is £135, and the occupancy rate is 86 per cent and growing compared to the industry average of 70 per cent.”

Milsom claims his firm improves home-owners’ rental returns “by an extra 30 to 40 per cent” because of its knowledge of the local market, the marketing channels, ability to generate five star reviews and “our passion for guest experience.”
