A family-run hybrid based in the North East has secured the £300,000 contract to manage a new student accommodation development in Newcastle.

BeeMyHome will manage the 43-bed St James Street Development which is popular with international students attending both Newcastle and Northumbria universities.

The development, which is located nearby to St James’ Park football stadium, comprises a mix of studio and multi-occupancy apartments.

“This is a brand-new market for BeeMyHome,” says the agency’s director, Victoria Valentine.

“We started out as an online-only lettings agency…branching out into student lettings adds another new string to our bow and it is something we are incredibly excited about,” she says.

“We would definitely be open to expanding this new area of our business and exploring more opportunities in the student lettings market.”

In order to service the growth, the agency has recruited a new member of staff, Vicky Wyatt, who will solely focus on managing the development.

It will be her responsibility to meet and greet students as they arrive and deal with any queries they have.

BeeMyHome was launched in 2014 and now employs three full-time members of staff and manages 130 rental properties.
