Portals Zoopla and OnTheMarket advertising rental listings on Facebook

Todays other news

Leading portals Zoopla and OnTheMarket have today announced that they will both be advertising agents’ rental property listings on Facebook Marketplace.

Marketplace allows consumers to search for properties via Facebook and has been successful in the US.

Prospective tenants will now be able to browse almost 300,000 rental property listings from Zoopla Property Group’s (ZPG) websites as well as all of the available listings from OnTheMarket’s tens of thousands of UK agents.

Users browsing Facebook for rental properties will be able to sort listings by search criteria and then contact relevant agents about the properties they’re interested in.

As of April 2018, more than 800 million people across the globe used Facebook Marketplace to buy and sell things and in the UK, some 30 million people access Facebook every day.

“This is great news for our agent members who will now get wider distribution of their listings as well as increased brand exposure with people looking for property to rent on Facebook Marketplace,” says Charlie Bryant, managing director of ZPG Property Services.

“We will continue to provide our agent partners with maximum exposure for their listings and brands along with the widest range of services to help them generate additional leads and revenues.”

OnTheMarket’s brand director, John Milsom, says: “We believe the quality of OnTheMarket agents’ property content integrated with the considerable scale and reach of Facebook Marketplace’s brand and service is a perfect fit.”

“People can [now] search Facebook Marketplace in the UK and connect with our agents, who update their listings data frequently to ensure accurate availability and pricing.”

“We look forward to working with Marketplace to create world-class value for property-seekers and value for both of our businesses.”
