Latest Build To Rent scheme has five year tenancies aimed at families

Grainger plc, the UK’s largest listed residential landlord, has launched a scheme of 29 two, three and four bedroom houses aimed at family tenants, at Waterlooville in Hampshire.

The Build To Rent scheme has rents starting at £1,025 per month for a two-bed home, and the company says it is demonstrating that BTR is not aimed solely at young professionals.

An earlier phase has already been launched and more are to come later this year. In all there will be 104 rental properties funded, built and operated by Grainger on this site.

It is Portsmouth’s first BTR scheme.

Grainger is offering up to five-year tenancies, with flexible break clauses, no hidden fees and what it calls “transparent yearly rental increases, providing the stability and security that is often lacking with typical rental contracts.”

Grainger has over 9,000 operational rental homes across the country, housing a total of over 15,000 people, with a further 4,000 BTR homes under development in cities such as Manchester, Bristol, Birmingham and Leeds.

Poll: Build To Rent is getting too big, too quickly
