Veteran agent joins Proptech firm behind lettings scheduling tool

The veteran estate agent Michael Stoop has become a non-executive director of Sorbet, a PropTech company which has created a software platform to help letting agents with scheduling.

Stoop, currently vice-chair of the Property Ombudsman, is the former managing director of Winkworth and also headed up Xperience, the Legal & General franchising brand which then sold to Martin & Co in 2014, prior to it becoming the Property Franchise Group.

Sorbet operates by connecting agent, landlord and tenant with the scheduling of tasks on lettings properties, and Stoop says he’s right behind the idea.

“Having remained active in the property market since leaving the Property Franchise Group in June last year, I have watched with interest the growth in the PropTech industry and how it is changing the landscape within the property industry” he says.

“I’ve been very impressed with the set up of Sorbet, their staff, values and aspirations. At this stage of my career, I only want to work with companies that can demonstrate a strategy that I absolutely believe in and most importantly, can make a real difference to the day-to-day lives of estate agents” he adds.

“I also look forward to being involved in growing the business over the coming months and years.”
