There’s been a huge 43 per cent rise in the number of London properties registered to be short let on Airbnb according to a lettings agency operating in the capital.
Portico says the number of entire properties (as opposed to individual rooms) on Airbnb for London is now 22,482.
The areas seeing the largest rises include Kensington & Chelsea and Tower Hamlets but outside of the centre the highest growth was seen by Sutton which had a 183 per cent growth in booked listing year on year, up from an almost non-existent presence on Airbnb in 2016.

They are silent on the impact of over supply and that rents are falling!
I am not surprised! Shelter and the Government seem to think they have an entitlement to our properties if they are let as long term lets, but seem happy to ignore them if they are let as short term lets.
It is also a sign that the short-term rental placement is really a great opportunity for homeowners to earn more money from their properties.
