New training course for agents in England unveiled by NALS

The National Approved Letting Scheme has unveiled a new specialist training course for letting agents.

The NALS Level 3 Award in Letting and Property Management (England) meets the government’s demand - announced earlier this year - that to further professionalise the private rented sector, letting and managing agents in England will be required to obtain a nationally recognised qualification to practice, with at least one person in every organisation required to have a higher qualification.

NALS courses for letting agents in Wales and Scotland already meet the regulatory requirements for those governments.

The Level 3 Award in Letting and Property Management (England) is recognised as an accredited award from awarding organisation NCFE, which is the awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators for England and Wales.

Like NALS’ other courses, this new one allows agents to take their tests and training completely online rather than having to leave the office to attend a dedicated testing centre.

The course comprises 10 units with a final test.

Candidates who successfully complete the Level 3 will receive an NCFE certificate, and if they are employed by a NALS member firm, can use the designation “NALS Qualified”.

The course is open to all, with discounts for NALS firms - they pay £300 for a single learner, including VAT, while non-NALS firms pay £350 including VAT.

“We’re very proud to offer the Level 3 Award which builds on NALS’ existing successful Foundation Lettings Courses for England, Scotland and Wales” explains Isobel Thomson, NALS chief executive.

“We want to support agents in developing their skills. It’s important that we can offer industry training which is not only of the highest standard, but also fully online - suiting the learning needs of employers and employees at a reasonable cost” she adds.
