The government has issued a new How To Rent guide - a key document which agents or landlords managing their properties directly must issue to all new tenants in England.
With immediate effect, agents are legally obliged to ensure they are issuing the updated guide to tenants in England when they start or renew their tenancies. Failure to do so will invalidate any future Section 21 eviction action.
This version is believed to be only narrowly different from the previous edition, published just a few weeks ago.
However, the law makes it clear that it must always be the newest version that is issued to tenants.
