The Southampton branch of Martin & Co has more than doubled its business after acquiring an independent agent in the city.

It’s snapped up 250 properties from Jonathan Rees Lettings, as well as four members of staff.

The Southampton Martin & Co is owned by Gavin Naish who also owns offices in nearby Eastleigh and Gosport.

“We had the infrastructure and premises in place for an acquisition of this size and this has really given the business a new lease of life, as well as an even more improved quality of client and property stock” says Naish.

“We want to improve on the good work Jonathan Rees has already done with its clients, make sure everyone is happy and then I’m sure we’ll get back on the acquisitions trail because there’s no reason to stop now.”

Martin & Co managing director Louise Griffiths  adds: “Any independent agencies thinking of selling their portfolios should speak to us as we have the funding and systems in place to complete quickly.”
