A long-established agency in Wales says it’s shutting the sales side of its business and going to focus solely on lettings from the new year.

The local press in the principality says Caerphilly agent Fussells has made the move because of the growth in the UK lettings market.

The re-focussing of the company will see the loss of three sales jobs between now and Christmas and the departure of founder Charles Fussell, who set up the firm 37 years ago: his wife Sheryl will now take command of the business.

“I am very proud of what Sheryl and I have achieved with the business and it has been a difficult decision to close down a part of the business we set up many years ago, and to see the loss of three jobs. We have seen lots of changes in the area and the sector over the years and have been resilient throughout, with staff who have been loyal and supportive” he told the Caerphilly Observer.

“Our lettings agency is sustainable and profitable, and it makes absolute sense to focus on that area in the future” he continued.

Properties currently for sale with Fussells will continue to be marketed and progressed to completion until December 31.
