Agent and co-founder of new end of tenancy PropTech solution The Depositary, Kristjan Byfield, has spoken to Letting Agent Today about why he decided to launch his own supplier product.

In an interview with property professional Chris Buckler, Byfield explains how the Depositary works, why he launched it, as well as his top tip on how agents can add value to their business.

The new product, in partnership with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, is officially launching today at the EA Masters event in London.

The Depositary automates and streamlines the end of tenancy process from the moment notice has been served/received to the point of refund (and dispute if applicable).

It’s the brainchild of Byfield and his business partner An Deckers and is being launched after three years of designing, building and testing.

The solution aims to reduce the number of low-value repetitive tasks letting agents have to undertake, estimating it could save 2.5 hours per tenancy – a saving of roughly 80%.
