A developer offering a rent guarantee on its homes has amended its advertisement wording after an intervention by the Advertising Standards Authority.
Howarth Homes made the claim in a press ad, stating that it was offering “guaranteed rental income”.
But a complainant contacted the watchdog to challenge this.
An Advertising Standards Authority spokeswoman contacted Howarth Homes and told Letting Agent Today: “The advertiser agreed to amend the claim, but clarified that they had been prepared to make up the shortfall between actual rent and the guarantee. We resolved the case informally.”
