Onliner’s higher fee to be payable only after tenancy agreement is signed

Online agency Upad has made another change to its charging structure.

It has recently introduced revised packages for landlords, payment via Direct Debit and an alternative deposit system. Now it’s going to charge its £449 core fee only when the tenant has signed a contract.

Founder and chief executive James Davis says: “When we launched UPay On Success a year ago, we did so to provide a comprehensive package that supported less experienced landlords who required a suite of products that included everything from a Rightmove Premium Listing, through to professional photography and compliance-proof paperwork.

“At that time, payment only became applicable once a tenant had been identified and the referencing process commenced. This announcement, however, takes that a step further and payment is now only due once the tenant has signed the contract.”

In February last year Upad introduced the UPay on Success scheme, then charging £399 for a premium Rightmove listing with professional photography, as well as obligatory paperwork to ensure the tenancy meets all compliancy requirements.
