Lettings at centre of Connells’ long-term apprenticeship scheme

Connells Group is backing this week’s National Apprenticeship Week and has launched a new head office programme giving around 100 existing members of staff courses in leadership, management development or customer service.

Since its launch in January 2013, the Connells Group Apprenticeship Scheme has given 250 young people aged 16 to 23 years the opportunity to ‘earn while they learn’ and develop vital skills across a multitude of professional disciplines including lettings, sales, mortgage services, business administration, customer service, human resources, payroll, recruitment and survey and valuation.

Ian Dobrin, Connells Group recruitment director says:  “National Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity for us to recognise the positive impact that apprenticeships have on employees, new and existing, as well as the wider business.

“Our Apprenticeship Scheme has been a great success for young people wanting to kick-start their career in the industry, current employees wanting to progress or fine-tune their existing skills, and for us as an employer.  The development of our people and the training we provide has always been extremely important to us, and we ensure that all our apprentices are given all the coaching and training they need to be the future of the business.”

Connells Group’s initial apprenticeship scheme which caters to learners aged 16 to 23 years has so far seen 75 per cent of apprentices achieving their qualifications and continuing into full time roles within the business, resulting in an above average completion rate of 70 per cent.

Of these learners, 60 per cent were promoted early and given full time roles just six months into the scheme.
