Online agent launches product to protect landlords from 'expensive disasters'

The online property management platform Howsy, formerly known as NoAgent, has launched a new package for landlords.

The platform says Howsy Protect aims to give landlords peace of mind from 'future expensive letting disasters'.

Priced at £90 per month (£115 in London), the new product includes guaranteed rent, repairs covered, a handyman service, Rightmove premium listing as standard, a 'VIP phoneline' and dedicated account manager.

Howsy was launched as NoAgent in 2016 and rebranded in July 2018. It is chaired by Gillian Kent, former chief executive of PropertyFinder.com.

"Innovation and technology have been great in terms of streamlining the lettings process and providing greater convenience to the customer, but we wanted to keep evolving that concept so that everyone from renter to landlord benefits," says Calum Brannan, Howsy's founder.

He says that the new product wants to address the areas of the lettings process which weigh heavily on landlords' minds, including tenants not paying rent, having to fit the bill for damage and struggling to find tenants quickly.
