Commuter town independent agency joins franchise group

Hunters has expanded its franchise network once again with the opening of a new branch in Reading.

Chas Shukla, director of Hunters Reading, says: “My team and I had 10 fantastic years establishing ourselves as one of Reading’s leading agents, Westgate, but are now looking forward to taking the next step and becoming part of a nationwide franchise network offering both sales and lettings.

“Hunters is one of the most highly respected brands in the country and it has created innovative approaches to marketing, technology, training and communication, which will allow us to offer unrivalled customer service.

“We are delighted to have the support of such a vast and growing network, giving us the opportunity to strengthen our offering over the next couple of years, while also preserving our core values.”

Hunters now has some 200 branches across the country and the company’s chief executive, Glynis Frew, says: “The brand continues to go from strength to strength against the backdrop of a challenging marketplace and an ever-evolving industry where compliance and technology is driving significant changes."

She continues: “A combination of our accredited training, extensive technological offering, local expertise and fantastic customer service, helps us to ensure that we continue to offer a market-leading service.”

Poll: Is the industry better consolidating, or keeping more independents?
