Here are two sets of advice from the good folk at Aston Mead Land & Planning – some more appropriate than others, depending on your working circumstances…
Director Adam Hesse has been in touch – although as his home office is in an old Georgian rectory, he has to stand in the garden whatever the weather to get decent reception.
He says: “Try to use a stand up desk like I do; if you don’t have one get up and walk round every time you have a phone call so don’t stay slouched in one position too long.
“If you don’t drink during the week normally try to adhere to that. you will feel sharper and fresher but also that first beer or glass of wine on a Friday afternoon tastes even better and feels like a little reward…
“Turn off social media and WhatsApp otherwise can and will spend all day looking at phone and not actually working!”

Adam’s colleague Richard Watkins has a different issue to cope with – cats. His advice? “Keep them off the keyboard as they have a knack of making my work disappear!”
Maybe he’s got a pet-friendly claws in his contract?
