A regional independent agency generating more than £20 million in rental income annually has snapped up a five-branch independent firm.

Alexander & Co, which marks its 50th birthday this year, has added Peter Ball & Co to its portfolio, giving the company a presence in Gloucestershire for the first time.

Peter Ball was set up more than two decades ago by husband-and-wife team Peter and Linda Ball and has five branches, including Cheltenham and Tewkesbury.

“We’ve a strong track record and reputation in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, with a history of successful acquisition of companies which are well-respected, established and have excellent local knowledge” explains Alexander & Co commercial director Paul Broomham.

“Adding Peter Ball & Co to our growing portfolio further strengthens our presence in the south, and will enable us to expand our service to customers in Gloucestershire. We can bring our comprehensive services to bear, providing access to on-line systems, increased marketing exposure and ongoing investment” he adds.

Peter Ball & Co will continue to operate under the same name, providing continuity and familiarity for customers.

Alexander & Co, which was established in 1970, specialises in residential sales and lettings, property and land management and new homes, with its portfolio representing a 50-50 split between sales and lettings.

Alexander & Co has grown to manage over half a billion in residential property assets, generating over £21m in rental income for its clients in the past year. In residential sales, it has sold over 500 homes in the last 12 months, at a property value close to £165m.
