The Deposit Protection Service (DPS) and safeagent have announced two new e-learning modules for letting agents and landlords.
The modules, which form part of an independently accredited award, focus on the key stages of a tenancy and the main considerations at the end of a contract.
Following on from modules on starting residential tenancies and preparing for disputes, the new content covers the check-out process and deposit deductions.
Agents who pass all four modules and a final test are eligible to receive an Award in Deposit Protection, accredited by national organisation NCFE.
“Our latest e-learning modules will help landlords and letting agents enhance their understanding of the tenancy lifecycle and important concepts that play a role in the dispute process, whether they have years of experience or are new to the industry,” says Matt Trevett, managing director of The DPS.
Isobel Thomson, safeagent chief executive, adds: “By completing the modules which lead to the Award in Deposit Protection, agents and landlords are clearly demonstrating to consumers their knowledge of best practice in tenancy deposit protection.”
The DPS has run hundreds of face-to-face seminars for agents and landlords since 2007, but says it is now focusing on providing online resources due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
