Corporate makes 150 acquisitions - and now says it wants more

Leaders Romans Group has snapped up another independent - this time the three office Welsh agency Moginie James.

Moginie James - owned by Nick James who founded the business in 2001 with then-business partner, Peter Moginie - has branches in the Cyncoed, Roath and Pontcanna suburbs of Cardiff, as well as a short lets Airbnb-style company created in 2019, called Hello Ted.

The existing premises will remain under the Moginie James brand but LRG is taking over all 44 members of staff. Nick James will continue to work with LRG on a consultancy basis post-completion.

LRG says the acquisition of Moginie James strengthens its property and professional services in the region; its Wales & West Land & Development team was established in 2018.

Matthew Light, group acquisitions director at LRG, comments: “Moginie James represents an excellent opportunity to enter the Cardiff market, extending the geographic footprint of the LRG network into South Wales. Cardiff provides a significant property base which more than justifies the three-branch location that the current business trades from.

“Additionally, the Hello Ted business represents a significant opportunity to grow a short lets business, not just in Cardiff, but also across some of the other cities in which LRG already has a presence. We are delighted to welcome such a strong business into the LRG fold, and even more so to be welcoming all of Moginie James’ existing employees into the Group.”

The Leaders Romans Group has now completed on over 150 acquisitions across the UK, and describes itself as the property industry’s leading acquirer.

Light adds: “If you are considering selling your property services business, the Leaders Romans Group adopts a hands-on approach to help business owners achieve their objectives.”
