Rightmove is to host an anti-money laundering webinar next week, aimed at lettings and sales agents.

The event, which is entitled Five Ways to Ensure AML Compliance, is free to Rightmove agents and will be run by Jerry Walters, managing director of FCS Compliance, who has over 25 years’ experience of working in financial fraud and crime enforcement.

It’s at 10am on Tuesday November 17.

““Despite the pandemic, money laundering hasn’t gone away – in fact quite the opposite” claims Walters.

“Carrying out due diligence checks has been made all the more difficult as agents struggle to hold face-to-face meetings. Put simply, remote working provides more opportunity for criminals to behave fraudulently; a fact not lost on HMRC, who remain as vigilant as ever in cracking down on what is considered to be one of the most serious of crimes” he continues.

The webinar is aimed at helping attendees better understand what they need to do to protect themselves and their businesses, providing the information needed to ensure compliance with the law.

Rightmove agents can register to attend, free of charge, on the Rightmove Hub here.
