Agents on Rightmove can now start using the portal’s new appointment booking tool, Viewings Manager, which has just completed its test phase.
Since last year small groups of lettings agents have been helping Rightmove evolve the tool to make sure it can be used to schedule viewing appointments, cut down on tenant no-shows, pre-qualify tenants and receive feedback on properties.
There are already over 200 agents signed up and using the tool.
The ‘Request Details’ button on an agent’s properties is replaced by a ‘Book a viewing’ button, and works through a four stage process.
The first involves the prospective tenant completing a simple affordability question to help pre-qualify them while they also suggest two hour time slots for a viewing over the following five days. Secondly the agent then confirms the time slots with the tenant directly through the tool.
Stage three is an automatic reminder from Rightmove, sent to the potential tenant via email and SMS to help cut down on no-shows. Finally, after the viewing, the tool automatically prompts an applicant to ask if they want to make an offer and provide feedback so agents don’t have to chase.
Viewings Manager is also now fully integrated with Van Mildert’s referencing service – owned by Rightmove – if an agent wants to request a reference directly within that tool.
Rightmove says the next enhancement of the bookings tool is coming next year, which will include the ability to integrate with an agent’s calendar or diary.
A statement from Rightmove announcing the tool’s launch cites lettings agent Jon Myers of Quick & Clarke in Yorkshire. He has been using the tool for several months and claims it’s almost halved tenant no-shows, as tenants are more likely to inform the agent of a cancellation because of the tool’s facilities.
